500 words and Cloud Bursting

The children have written some very good stories for this years' 500 word competition. They are now putting the finishing touches and then typing them up on Word. I really enjoyed reading them and over half-term I will put the finished typed stories on our blog so you can see them.

We have also started a new Talk for Writing unit and this time we are studying Cloud Bursting by Malorie Blackman. The book tells the story of two unlikely friends through poetry. The children really enjoyed the way the story unfolded and the different styles of poetry used.

After half term we will be using the book as a guide to write our own poetry. Hopefully we can share some of these at one of our assemblies.

Have a great half-term break and enjoy the rest.
